Russia begins distribution of first batch of “Sputnik V” vaccine to its territories

The Russian Ministry of Health has announced the start of the distribution of the first batch of Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” against the Coronavirus (CVID-19) to Russian regions.

During the distribution of the first batch, the logistics chains for delivering the vaccine to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, distribution and organization of vaccination against COVID-19 of citizens from the high-risk group will be ensured , the ministry said.

Russia has registered the world’s first vaccine against the coronavirus, which has infected more than 1 million people in Russia, and more than 28 million worldwide.

The vaccine was developed at Gamaleya Federal Research Center for Epidemiology Microbiology under the supervision of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
