Infighting between mercenary forces hits Yemeni west coast front

Armed confrontations broke out between mercenary forces led by Tariq Afash, which are funded by the UAE, and factions of the Amaliqa Brigades which are loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.

“A fist fight between soldiers from the Al-Sabiha tribes and gunmen of Tariq Afash forces developed into armed confrontations in the west coast,” activist Salem Al-Shaiba said in a tweet on Tuesday.

Al-Shaiba attributed the clashes to the betrayal of Tariq Afash forces against the soldiers coming from the southern provinces, during the attack on Durayhimi city, which killed and wounded dozens of people from the southern provinces.

Dozens of southern Yemeni recruits withdrew from the so-called “joint forces” after these clashes.
