President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat has on Monday accused the Saudi-led coalition of obstructing negotiations on the economic file.
In an interview with the newspaper “26 September”, al-Mashat held the coalition fully responsible for the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen, as a result of the continuing war and siege imposed on the Yemeni people.
The President confirmed that the US and its Saudi and Emirati tools have drawn plans to destroy Yemen and its economy and exhaust the people.
Al-Mashat warned of the danger of using the economy as a war strategy, stressing the importance of continuation in taking measures to protect the national currency.
“We have great steps in this direction, but we hope for rationality and for the public interest to prevail for all the Yemeni people,” he added.
