Yemeni forces advance on Hadhramaut province and border crossing into Saudi Arabia

Yemeni army forces, backed by the Popular Committees, have on Friday advanced towards the eastern outlet that links Ma’rib province with Hadhramaut and the border crossing into Saudi Arabia, local sources said.

According to the local sources, the army forces fought fierce battles against coalition troops in the past hours, during which they managed to advance from the north towards the east of Ma’rib city.

The sources explained that the army forces managed to impose a siege on the old village of Raghwan, and advance towards the fronts of Al-Alam Alabyad and al-Nadhoud , northeast of the city.

Moreover, the sources affirmed that the army forces were able to clear several positions that were controlled by coalition forces in Nadhoud, as well as to impose a suffocating siege on armed groups affiliated with the invading coalition and al-Qaeda in Tabea al-Aryalat. The sources confirmed that al-Qaeda forces suffered heavy losses here.

Dozes of Saudi-led mercenaries were killed and wounded. Among the dead are Brigadier General Mohammed Ali Abdo al-Hadithi, commander of the al-Qaeda elements from Raymah province.
