Dozens of activists from Mahrah province, southern Yemen, have declared that they hold Saudi Arabia and the British intelligence services responsible for any targeting of regional leader Sheikh Ali Salem Al-Harizi.
Mahrah activists denounced the British intelligence’s recruitment of spies to raise coordinates and information about the province tribes in general and Sheikh Al-Harizi in particular.
The activists considered that the confessions revealed by Yemeni security services on Tuesday, which featured captured British spies describing their activity in Mahrah, a “crime for which Saudi Arabia, the UAE and British intelligence bear responsibility.”
Sheikh Al-Harizi, former undersecretary of Mahrah province, has been known for his positions opposing the Saudi occupation of Mahrah provine. After the Saudi invasion, he left his government position and announced that he joined the peaceful sit-in protests in Mahrah, rejecting the presence of the Saudi forces.
