Yemeni leading figures pay hommage to martyr President Saleh al-Sammad on third anniversary of his death

Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has on Monday visited the tomb of martyr President Saleh al-Sammad and his colleagues in al-Sabaeen Square in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a, on the occasion of the third anniversary of his martyrdom.

During the visit, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi along with a number of assistants to the Minister of Defence, heads of government bodies, directors of military departments and other leaders placed a wreath of flowers on the shrine and read the Al-Fatihah surah of the Qur’an in honour of the spirit of the martyr and his companions.

He pointed out that the martyr Saleh al-Sammad was a brave leader who provided the highest meanings of sacrifice and redemption for the country and the people.

Al-Houthi explained that “the victories that are achieved day by day on all fronts are thanks to the great sacrifices of the heroes of the army and the Popular Committees.

He praised the wise approach of the martyr and his great efforts in promoting national steadfastness and the cohesion of the internal front in the face of Saudi-led aggression, as well as his remarkable work in preserving the institutional structure of the state.

Saleh Ali al-Sammad served as President of the Republic of Yemen from 15 August 2016, assuming leadership of the Supreme Political Council. He was killed along with six of his guard escorts on 21 April 2018, after his convoy was attacked by coalition aircraft while he was carrying out his national duties in Hodeidah province.
