Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the restoration of a ceasefire in Yemen.
Speaking in his meeting with Mohammed Abdulsalam, Spokesman for the Ansarullah Movement and Chief Negotiator of the National Salvation Government of Yemen, which took place in Oman on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran backs the restoration of a ceasefire in Yemen, as well as diplomatic talks.
During the meeting, Zarif expressed his regret over the conditions created by the 6-year war imposed on the Yemeni people, and called for an end to the war and the lifting of the siege.
Zarif reiterated Iran’s view that a political solution is the only solution to the Yemeni crisis.
Mohammed Abdulsalam, for his part, expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support of the Yemeni people, and briefed Foreign Minister Zarif on the latest developments in Yemen.
