UN report details ISIS use of chemical weapons in Iraq

Terrorist organisation Daesh (ISIS) has tested biological weapons against prisoners in Iraq, according to a UN investigation released by the UNITED mission.

It noted that the group used chemical weapons against civilians between 2014 and 2016.

Daesh crimes against Yazidis in Iraq amount to war crimes and genocide, the investigation added.

The investigation revealed that 875 ISIS victims have been identified in 11 mass graves, and four execution sites have been identified after the attack on Badoush prison in Nineveh, northern Iraq.

According to the mission’s website, they are now studying how to “enhance accountability for ISIS crimes, through teamwork through international, local and non-governmental actors.”

The UNITAD mission is scheduled to unveil its full report at a conference on May 12th
