President of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, Mahdi Al-Mashat, has on Tuesday sent a cable of congratulations to the President of Lebanon, Michel Aoun.
In the cable, President Al-Mashat congratulated Aoun and the Lebanese people on the occasion of Resistance and Liberation Day, which commemorates the liberation of Lebanon from Israeli occupation and invasion in the year 2000.
“The liberation of southern Lebanon was a practical testament to the viability of the resistance over all other failed settlement options,” the president said.
He added that those failed options did not regain any right, but rather wasted rights and gave the enemy more time to devote to its occupation and to increase its power at the expense of the nation’s causes, its dignity and independence.
President of Yemen Mahdi Al-Mashat affirmed that, after the Lebanese nation had suffered calamities and setbacks, the Day of Resistance and Liberation came to end the time of defeats and to start the time of victories.
