The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights has on Wednesday revealed the shocking numbers of civilian victims as a result of the US-Saudi aggression during the last 2,000 days.
During a press conference, held in the capital Sana’a, the Ministry of Human Rights confirmed that the Saudi-led aggression has killed no fewer than 16,771 civilians and injured 26,359 others,
The ministry indicated, in its official report, that 5,345 of those killed were women and 3,747 children. Over 4,000 people were wounded during the past 2,000 days.
At least 147,000 Yemenis have been displaced as a result of the bombing that have targeted all Yemeni lands.
The Ministry of Human Rights confirmed that the coalition has launched thousands of military attacks against civilian targets.
The Ministry’s report included statistics of civilian facilities that are destroyed by the aggression, including over 47 media institutions, over 28 radio and television centers, over 41 judicial courts, 131 sports facilities, 364 tourist facilities and 2,023 various service facilities, as well as 1,324 mosques and 417 archaeological sites and historical monuments.
Regarding the health and education facilities, the Ministry reported that the aggression has destroyed 486 hospitals and health facilities, targeting 92 ambulances, and destroying two oxygen plants. It also destroyed over 3,722 educational facilities, causing over 4,435,000 students to lose their access to education.
In the field of service, industrial, commercial and agricultural facilities, the Ministry reported that the aggression has targeted 14 seaports and 9 civil airports, and burnt 4 civilian aircraft.
The aggression furthermore destroyed 348 factories, 5 wheat silos, 763 fuel stations, and over 4,718 fish landing centers, depriving over 40,000 fishermen of access to fishing.
The ministry’s report included reporting the destruction of 13,324 agricultural sites, 11,610 agricultural fields and 41,610 beehives and apiaries.
The statistic also indicated that over 2,298 water installations and networks were destroyed and damaged, alongside more than 538 electrical stations and networks, and at least one civil communications facility.
The Ministry of Human Rights confirmed that it has found evidence of the use of banned weapons, such as cluster and thermobaric bombs by the aggression, and this on a large scale.
It pointed to the aggression and mercenaries kidnapping and arresting more than 1,000 civilians in the occupied areas, and hundreds of civilians having completely disappeared.
On the subject of economic damage, the Ministry of Human Rights confirmed that due to the aggression and siege, at least 24,300,000 Yemenis are in need of aids, and at least 7.27 million urgently need shelter.
The statement concluded by explaining that over 60% of Yemenis are suffering from starvation, noting that the poverty rate has risen to 85% and the unemployment rate to 65%, and marking that 1.25 million government employees have been deprived of their salaries, while over 350,000 patients have been prevented from traveling abroad for treatment. At least 42,000 of thess patients have died due to the Saudi blockade of Sana’a airport.
