The Yemeni army forces and Popular Committees have on Wednesday started a fierce attack against Saudi-led coalition forces on the ‘Al-Jouba front, south of Ma’rib city, military sources said.
According to the sources, the army and committees managed to take control of strategic sites beyond the Al-Zakhemarea, and advanced towards Al-Matina junction.
“The army and committees are only eight kilometers from Al-Matina junction, the southern gate of Ma’rib city,” one of the sources said.
Moreover, another source confirmed that the Yemeni army and Popular Committees have continued their rapid advance toward the northeast of Ma’rib.
The report affirmed that the Yemeni forces were able to advance to Rwaik area and north of the petroleum fields in Safir district during their fierce battles against the coalition forces.
The source indicated that Yemeni troops advanced from al-Sabaigh area toward the east and were able to seize and clear the Safer road.
