Somali prisoner dies due to neglect in occupied Aden

A Somali prisoner held in a prison camp in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden has died on Friday, local sources reported on Sunday.

According to reports, prisoner Adam Ibrahim, a Somali national, who was charged with attempted murder in 2014 has passed away in Mansoura prison.

The sources explained that the Somali prisoner died of anemia, as he did not receive the necessary healthcare from the prison administrators.

For the past six years, Adam had not been tried in a court, but he refused to escape from prison at the outbreak of the war in 2015.

Activists on social media on Sunday questioned the phenomenon of forgetting and neglecting of prisoners by the Attorney General in the occupied south of Yemen, as well as the the public prosecutor and the Supreme Judicial Council.
