The Yemeni army, backed by the Popular Committees, have on Tuesday managed to foil an infiltration attempt carried out by Saudi-led coalition’s mercenaries towards army locations in Hodeidah province, western Yemen, a military official said.
According to the official, the mercenaries tried to advance towards eastern and southern parts of al-Durayhimi district, but were foiled by the army forces.
Moreover, the coalition-backed mercenaries launched artillery shells targeting several areas in the same district, burning down several homes.
On Monday, the US-backed Saudi-led aggression coalition’s mercenaries committed 263 violations of the ceasefire and Stockholm Agreement in the province over the past 24 hours, including establishing new combat fortifications in Jabalyah area and al-Durayhimi district, said a source in the Correlation and Coordination Operations Room.
The breaches included flying of fighter jets and spy drones over Kilo 16, al-Mandhar, Faza, Jabalyah areas, Hodeidah city, Tuhayta and Hays districts.
The mercenaries targeted al-Durayhmi district by nine bombs of coalition’s spy aircrafts.
The mercenaries also committed 56 violations by an artillery and missile bombing using over 600 shells and missiles and 186 others by shooting in separate areas using various machine guns.
