Senior al-Qaeda leader killed by Yemeni forces

A leader of terrorist organisation al-Qaeda was killed on Tuesday while fighting in the ranks of Saudi-led coalition forces in the battles taking place on the southwestern fronts of Ma’rib province, southeast Yemen.

Captain Yazid Abdurahman Sha’non al-Aqili, one of the al-Qaeda leaders who was previously granted the position of staff chief of the fifth battalion in the 153rd Infantry Brigade of the Saudi-led invaders, was killed in battle at the Al-Jouba front, southern Ma’rib province, according to local sources.

The fronts in the southwest of Ma’rib city are witnessing violent confrontations, in conjunction with a large advance of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees towards the important strategic city.
