A powerful explosion rocked the southern port city of Aden, local sources said on Monday.
According to the sources, a roadside bomb exploded near the security department headquarters in Khur Maksar district.
They also confirmed that they saw smoke rising from the site of the explosion, without knowing the casualties.
The explosion occurred following the handover of the city security by the UAE-backed leader Shalal Shayea to new the leader who was recently appointed by Hadi government based in Saudi capital, Riyadh as a director general of Aden security.
Assassinations and security disorder have been hitting Aden since early 2016, when militias backed by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates overran much of the country’s south.
