Assassinations and kidnappings continue to plague Aden province

At least one person was killed and two others were wounded on Tuesday, when unknown gunmen carried out armed an attack on a high-ranking military commander in Yemen’s southern province of Aden, local sources reported.

According to the sources, the attack hit the house of the commander of the so-called 4th Military Region, Fadhl Hassan Al-Omari, in Enma city, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militia.

The gunmen, firing from inside two cars, fired bullets at Al-Omari’s house, using light weapons, in the attack, which led also injuring the son of Al-Omari’s sister, the sources added.

In a similar example of the deteriorating security situation in the province, a young woman was kidnapped in Aden city. The girl’s family confirmed that their daughter was kidnapped under mysterious circumstances in al-Mansoura area.

 

The family declared that their daughter was on her road to work in a commercial center on Tissain street.

The city of Aden has seen widespread security chaos and conflicts, amid widespread assassinations and kidnappings, since the second half of 2015 when the region was invaded by mercenary forces backed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
