A Turkish Red Crescent official in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden was seriously injured after an assassination attempt planed against him was reported Monday night.
According to a security source, The Financial Officer of the Turkish Relief Organization suffered a head injury he had sustained in a shooting incident that took place after midnight in mysterious circumstances.

He is receiving treatment at a hospital in the city, but the reasons behind the incident, which came two weeks after he was arrested for hours with an MSF official and a Yemeni translator, were not clear.
Activists on social media accused the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias of trying to kill the Turkish official.

They also reported the arrival of a Turkish private plane to transport the Turkish official after he was injured in an assassination attempt in the city of Aden, and Turkish threats to deter the aggressors.
