At least two citizens were injured on Monday when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in the areas under the control of Islah Party loyal to Saudi-led coalition in Taiz province, southwest Yemen.
The IED, planted by unknown persons, exploded in front of ‘Al-Hadhrami’ restaurant in Bir Basha area, which resulted in the injuring five citizens, according to a local source.
The explosion also caused damage to property and citizens’ cars parked near the place, the source added.
Last week, director of ‘Thaabat’ Police station in Taiz city, Mohammed Al-Sufyani, was seriously injured due to a blast of an improvised explosive device in his car.
