Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei directs message to the people of France

The Leader of Iran, Sayyid Ali Khamenei, has on Thursday directed a message in French to French people.

In a tweet, Sayyid Khamenei wrote: “Young people of France! Ask your president, why does he support insulting God’s Prophet and says he considers this freedom of expression Does freedom mean directing hostility and insult to holy personalities? Is not this foolish act an insult to the feelings of the people who elected him as their president?”

The Iranian leader referred to the fact that whoever openly doubts the Holocaust in France, can risk being imprisoned, while the abuse of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is permissible in France.

French president Emmanuel Macron has received extensive backlash across the Islamic world recently, after he openly expressed his support for insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
