Yemeni Officials Warn Against the Colonization of Socotra

The speaker of the Shura Council, Mohammad Hussein al-Aidarous, warned against the UAE’s attempts to naturalize the people of the Socotra archipelago and bring about demographic changes to the indigenous population.

The move came during a joint meeting of the Shura Council and parliament, held today in Sana’a.
Al-Aidarous considers the Saudi-Emirati occupation of the southern and eastern provinces as a dangerous implementation of a colonial agenda that requires all national forces to unite on positions and efforts to expel the invaders.

The Speaker of the Shura Council pointed to the practices to which the people of the southern and eastern provinces are subjected by the forces of invasion and occupation of the UAE and Saudi Arabia with direct American-Zionist support.

He addressed the need to take care of the issues of citizens in the southern and eastern provinces and their suffering, and address them in official media channels to expose the ugly face of the invaders and occupiers.
