Yemeni exchange students in Russia resume protests against Hadi

Yemeni exchange students in Russia have on Monday resumed their open sit-in protest in front of the Yemeni embassy in the Russian capital of Moscow, to demand the payment of their unpaid dues from th Saudi-backed Hadi government.

Russian police originally dispersed a prior student sit-in last week inside the embassy building at the behest of the ambassador appointed by the Hadi government, Ahmed Al-Wahaishi. A number of students protesters were even arrested.

The protesters emphasised that they will continue their protest until their legitimate demands have been met, denouncing the failure of the Hadi government, which caused their suffering as a result of the suspension of the payment of their dues.

For many Yemeni exchange students, this means they are stuck in Russia without being able to pay their tuition fees, resulting in their suspension from studies and their dismissal from Russian universities.
