UAE ship carrying large amounts of weapons arrives in Socotra

A UAE ship carrying 57 containers loaded with weapons has docked in the port of the occupied Socotra island.

According to the resigned Minister of Transport in the Saudi-backed exiled Hadi government, Saleh Al-Jabwani, the ship included 36 containers carrying modern arms and 21 others loaded with towers and communications equipment meant to link the island with Abu Dhabi.

Al-Jabwani added that the UAE ship entered Socotra province with the help of the prime Minister of the Hadi government, Moeen Abdul-Malik.

He accused Moeen Abdul-Malik of colluding with the Emirati-Israeli colonial policy on the island.

Al-Jabwani published a memorandum signed by the Deputy Head of Hadi’s Government, Salem al-Khanbashi, under the direction of Moeen Abdul Malik, to the director of Socotra port, explicitly allowing the entry of the UAE ship.

This comes after the STC militias took control of the island’s capital, Hadiboh, in mid-June, and established a joint UAE-Israeli military base on the island.
