Liberation of Ma’rib “imminent” as Yemeni forces close in on Saudi-backed mercenaries in key city

The city of Ma’rib has on Thursday witnessed military developments predicting the imminent liberation of the city bt Yemeni army forces, as the latter is making significant advances during the fighting in the last few hours.

Tribal sources confirmed that forces loyal to the National Salvation Government of Yemen have taken control over the area of Wadi Ablah, located between the directorates of Al-Abdiyah and Harib, in addition to the area between the Directorate of Jabal Murad and the city of Ma’rib, in the area of Haid al-Hamad.

The sources said Yemeni forces have tightened their control over the air defence camp near the strategic Tadawin base, while another unit was able to break into the city’s defensive lines.

Earlier, media and activists on social media reported that Yemeni forces had shot down a warplane near the Medghal District, without giving further details.
