Spokesman for Ansarullah, Mohammed Abdulsalam has on Thursday said that he held the United Nations responsible for the occurrence of any disaster in the floating Safer tank.
This came in his comment on the United Nations request to postpone sending experts to maintain the floating Safer reservoir in Ras Issa port in Hodeidah province, western Yemen.
“The United Nations is dealing with the technical maintenance of the floating Safer tank with a lot of indifference, which makes it really unworthy to deal with matters more important than that,” said Abdulsalam.
He pointed out that there is an agreement signed by the Sana’a government, and that Yemen is waiting for the UN signature to start the maintenance process. “Faced with serious risks of keeping the reservoir in its condition, the international body bears full responsibility.”
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Economic Committee of Sana’a government revealed the United Nations’ request to postpone sending experts to maintain the reservoir until February 15 next year.
