The people of Hadhramaut province have on Saturday demanded the opening of Al-Rayyan International Airport, which has been controlled by UAE forces since 2016.
Hadhramaut tribes, in a statement issued at a rhetorical festival held on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the so-called “Hadhramaut People’s Uprising” in the city of Mukalla, stressed the importance of re-opening the airport to humanitarian aid and travelers from the province.
The statement considered that the transformation of Al-Rayyan airport into a military base and a detention center by the UAE forces shows their disregard for the people of Hadhramaut.
