The Yemeni army and Popular Committees have imposed their control over new military sites previously belonging to Saudi-led coalition at the Medghal front, northwest of Ma’rib city, local sources reported on Saturday.
The sources confirmed that the army forces have taken control of most of the sites of the so-called 117th Brigade, after the brigade’s staff officer, Major General Mohammed Hassan Al-Humiqani, was killed on Friday along with dozens of officers.
The army and the Popular Committees had previously taken control of the brigade’s sites in Al-Khrariba area, southeast of Medghal, and tightened their control over the Al-Najaf and Wadi Al-Samda areas, according to the sources.
The sources pointed out the coalition militants suffered large human and material losses on the Medghal front.
