Newborn infant rescued after having been abandoned in Aden

A security patrol has found a newborn girl dumped near a garbage heap in the Al-Basateen neighbourhood of Dar Saad district in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden, Tahdeeth Net reported on Monday.

The head of the Al-Basateen police, Major Musleh al-Dharhani, said police search teams were investigating who had put the baby girl in the area.

Al-Dharhani said the police had transferred the baby to a nursery because of her need for breastfeeding and medical care.

The city of Aden has been experiencing widespread insecurity, assassinations and ongoing violence against citizens ever since being occupied by the invaders.
