Huge fire devours commercial stores in Sana’a

A huge fire broke out on Friday and devoured a commercial store of furniture in the capital Sana’a, according to Yemen Press Agency.

The fire engulfed the commercial stores for selling furniture and home furnishings and a number of shops in the center of Naqum neighborhood.

The fire caused great material losses without causing any human casualties, one of the firefighters told Yemen Press Agency.

He explained that the cause of the fire was due to an electrical fault.

The Yemeni Civil Defence rushed fire engines and police to the scene, where firefighters were able to control the fire.

This is the second fire to hit furniture shops in Yemen in less than seven months. A similar fire broke out in Ramadan, causing material losses exceeding 200 million riyals.
