The Ministry of Fisheries in the National Salvation Government of Yemen has on Thursday condemned the confiscation of a number of fishing boats of fishermen from Abyan governorate by the Saudi-led coalition.
“These practices amount to war crimes,” the ministry said in a statement.
“These actions contribute to exacerbating the suffering of fishermen, as the fishing profession is the only source of their livelihood,” the ministry added.
The statement called on international organisations to put pressure on the coalition countries and to work to stop these violations against fishermen along the coastal strip of Yemen in general.
