The National Center for Returnees has on Friday received 20 soldiers defecting from the Saudi side, in the capital Sana’a.
Among the soldiers was the former head of operations at the 3rd Border Guards Brigade in al-Rabu’ah area, Colonel Mahfoudh al-Ameri.
During the reception, al-Ameri hailed the responsible role of the revolutionary political leadership and their eagerness to issue a general amnesty decision and to accommodate those who wanted to return to Yemeni side.
He explained that deceived soldiers who end up expressing doubt in the Saudi leadership are subjected to various types of torture in prisons of aggression, and that some have been in Saudi prisons for more than two years.
The returnees called on the rest of the deceived troops to take advantage of the amnesty, return peacefully to the national ranks, and to work with the army and Popular Committees to participate in the defence of Yemen’s national sovereignty against the invaders and occupiers.
