Large demonstrations hit Aden in protest against economic misery

The port city of Aden, southern Yemen, has on Wednesday witnessed angry demonstrations in protest of the delay in salary payment and the closing of money exchange shops.

The demonstrators blocked the streets and burned tires in Al-Mansoura and Sheikh Othman districts, the sources said.

The move comes as a result of the continuing devaluation of Yemeni riyal currency in the provinces under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, and the complete inability of the Hadi government to address the situation
