At least one dead and three wounded in mercenary infighting in Aden

At least one recruit was killed and three others injured on Saturday’s clashes that had broken out between two major factions of UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions in Aden.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on local sources. According to the sources, the victim belonged to the Security Belt faction.

Both sides of the clash used various types of weapons, including mortars in the fight, one of the sources said.

Armed men loyal to the resigned director of Aden security room control over a disputed piece of land a few days ago, in conjunction with the visit of the new Director of Security of Aden to the headquarters of the Security Belt.

Over 30 armed factions recently deployed in the city. This could turn it into a battleground for regional confrontations, especially in light of the escalating tension between the factions coming from the provinces of Dhalea and Yafea within the Security Belt forces .
