The Yemeni Armed Forces have on Saturday denied that they were responsible for any offensive operation against Saudi-led coalition countries during the past 24 hours.
Spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, said in a statement this afternoon that “It is our natural and legitimate right to respond to the aggression countries as long as the aggression and siege continue.”
Sare’e pointed out that the Yemeni armed forces announce any operation they are carrying out, with pride and honour. However, Sare’e stated, no such counterattack by Yemeni forces had taken place on Saturday.
The Yemeni statement comes in response to a Saudi-led coalition claim that it had thwarted an attack by intercepting ballistic missiles targeting the Saudi capital Riyadh.
