Mass protests hit Aden in response to continuous power outages

Hundreds of inhabitants of Yemen’s southern city of Aden have taken to the streets on Sunday, in an angry protest rally to denounce the power outages and the deterioration of essential service in the city.

At the rally, the demonstrators cut off roads with stones and set tyres on fire in the Khor Maksar district.

They condemned the power cuts they have been suffering, and blamed the Ministry of Electricity in the Saudi-backed Hadi government for three failure of developing urgent and appropriate solutions to ease the suffering the city’s sons.

The city of Aden has been suffering from frequent power cuts and continuous deterioration of the economy amidst an unwillingness from the Hadi administration to address the issues.
