Yemen condemns UN delays in highly urgent inspection mission to floating oil tanker

The National Salvation Government on Thursday held the United Nations responsible for the delay of the technical team to inspect the Safer oil ship.

Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein Al-Ezzi said that: “The continuous postponement and change in the arrival dates of the technical team of the ship has been caused by the United Nations unilaterally.”

“We have demonstrated our great interest and concern in light of the developments of the American hostility towards our country and the Yemeni people,” Al-Ezzi affirmed.

He added, “We are currently making great efforts to ensure that there is no suspicious link connecting the [UN] team to Washington.”

On Wednesday, the UN said that it hoped that its experts would be able to travel to Yemen in early March to conduct a preliminary maintenance process for the oil tanker Safer, after its mission scheduled for early February was delayed.
