The official spokesman of Ansarullah, Mohammed Abdulsalam, has praised Italy’s decision to halt arms exports to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which have been waging a devastating war on the impoverished nation for years.
“Italy’s announcement to stop selling weapons to countries that launch aggression against Yemen is a positive step, which contributes to protecting civilians and supporting the peace process,” Ansarullah Spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam wrote in a post published on his official Twitter page late Friday.

Earlier on Friday, Italy announced the suspension of arms exports to both Saudi Arabia and the UAE because of their involvement in the war in Yemen.
This comes after years of campaigning, protests and roadblocks by the anti-war and Yemen solidarity movements in Italy. On Monday, an International Day of Action for Yemen was held worldwide, with thousands of activists across the globe participating in solidarity actions with Yemen.
