Yemeni negotiators condemn Saudi-backed Islah Party for trying to derail prisoner exchange negotiations

The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs has condemned the recent schemes of the Islah Party in the ongoing negotiations in the Jordanian capital of Amman.

Abdul Qadir Al-Murtadha said in a message on his official account on Twitter: “The representatives of the Islah Party are creating new conditions outside the prisoner exchange agreement, which can impede all efforts towards a solution.”

He called on the United Nations to put an end to the plots of the Islah Party representatives, in order to avoid the failure of the negotiations.

“Whenever we take a step forward, representatives of the Islah Party take us two steps back,” he added.

The National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs had confirmed earlier that the Islah Party’s ruling over the prisoners’ exchange agreement has made it more difficult to reach an agreement in it, given their focus to focus only on liberating their own members without concern for the rest of the prisoners in this conflict.
