Yemeni army forces and the Popular Committees have made new field achievements in the fierce battles they are fighting in the north of Ma’rib province.
Sources in Ma’rib province told the Yemen Press Agency that Yemeni army forces and Popular Committees have launched a major military offensive in the past few hours, towards al-Qaeda positions in the al-Alalam Alabyadh Front, near the Rawaik line.
The army forces fought fierce battles against coalition forces, al-Islah militias and al-Qaeda, during which they were able to clear new areas and take control of the military operations room of the coalition forces in the area of Abu Shad, north of Ma’rib city.
Moreover, the sources confirmed that the Yemeni forces were able to impose a suffocating siege on over 40 al-Qaeda terrorists.
Furthermore, the sources revealed that al-Qaeda suffered heavy losses in its ranks, including military leaders, most notably the death of leaders Ali Hamad Khamis Khairan, Hussein Massaad Massoud and Ali Mohsen Ali Hadian.
