US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Washington is seeking to “reinvigorate diplomatic efforts with the United Nations to end the Yemeni crisis.”
He expressed his country’s “aspiration to cooperate with the United Nations envoy for Yemen, in order to end the conflict there and respond to the country’s humanitarian crisis.”
US special envoy to Yemen Timothy Lenderking also spoke of putting forward a new plan to the National Salvation Government “to cease fire in the country.
He said Washington has a “coherent nationwide ceasefire plan that includes elements that will allow immediate handling of the harsh humanitarian situation in Yemen.”
