A local imam was murdered on Tuesday in Taiz city, local sources reported.
The sources confirmed that the the imam of Al-Rahma Mosque in Al-Dhaboa’ neighborhood, Mahyoub Shamsan Al-Zaghrouri, was murdered with a jambiya knife, while he was calling for the morning prayer.
The killer reportedly also hit Al-Zaghrouri on the head with a rock after stabbing him in the back. The imam died on the spot, while the killer remains at large.
It is noteworthy that this sort of crimes have become almost a daily occurrence in cities like Taiz, due to the insecurity in territories under the control of the Saudi-led Islah Party militias.
