Russia demands full end of Saudi blockade on Yemen

The Russian Foreign Ministry had on Tuesday evening stressed the need to fully lift the naval, air and land blockade on Yemen completely.

“We have been and still are calling for an end to the Yemen war as soon as possible, with ensuring sustainable stability and national consensus in this country,” the Russian ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that achieving a comprehensive and long-term settlement of this war is possible, based on proper consideration of the interests of all prominent political forces in Yemen.

“This matter includes the complete lifting of the naval, air and land blockade on the country’s territory, as well as taking other urgent practical steps aimed at addressing the critical socio-economic and humanitarian conditions in the Republic of Yemen,” the ministry explained.

The statement confirmed Russia’s intention to continue to support the efforts of the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Yemen, Martin Griffiths, to end the war on Yemen as soon as possible.
