The Sultanate of Oman has said on Tuesday that it will continue in its efforts to work closely towards reaching a comprehensive political settlement to the Yemeni crisis.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq affirmed in a statement to Oman’s official news agency that “the Sultanate continues to work closely with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the UN and US envoys for Yemen, and the concerned Yemeni parties, towards reaching a comprehensive political settlement to the current crisis in Yemen.”
Sultan Haitham added that “the Sultanate hopes that these contacts will achieve the desired result in the near future, in order to restore security and stability to brotherly Yemen and preserve the security and interests of the countries of the region.”
Recently, the United Nations and United States envoys to Yemen held new talks in both Oman and Saudi Arabia as part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the six-year long conflict in Yemen.
