A Yemeni student union in Syria has held an event marking the sixth anniversary of Yemeni steadfastness in the face of the brutal US-backed Saudi-Emirati aggression, and the inauguration of “the seventh year to face the plans of occupation and confront its efforts to impose guardianship on Yemen.”
The event was organised by the General Union of Yemeni Students at Aleppo University, under the auspices of Dr. Ibrahim al-Hadid, Secretary of the Aleppo University Branch of Ba’ath Arab Socialist Party of Syria.

The event was also attended by Abdullah Sabri, Yemeni ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic.
The event was titled “National Day of Steadfastness in the Face of Aggression” and featured many speeches that praised the legendary steadfastness of the Yemeni people in the face of US-Zionist plots in the region.
The speeches pointed out that the Yemeni people constituted an “exceptional case in the fight against the axis of evil, and in confronting foreign plans that collided with the strong Yemeni will on which all conspiracies were destroyed.”
The event included a documentary film on the crimes of aggression against Yemen, scenes of incursions carried out by Yemeni army forces and Popular Committees on various fronts, as well as models of strategic deterrence operations launched by the Missile Forces and the Air Force, striking sensitive targets deep inside Saudi Arabia.
At the end of the event, the Union honored Ambassador Abdullah Sabri with the Union Shield, in recognition of his national efforts in combating the aggression and exposing its crimes, as well as his dedication to serving students and the Yemeni community living in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Syria and Yemen have been having close and friendly relations for years, with Syria officially recognising the National Salvation Government in Sana’a as the country’s legitimate government.
