Journalist survives assassination attempt in occupied Aden

A journalist was victim of an assassination attempt by unknown gunmen in the city of Aden, southern Yemen on Wednesday.

Journalist Hamdan Al-Qua’iti said that masked gunmen shot him while he was passing by his car in the Ghazi Alloun neighbourhood, east of Aden. Al-Qua’iti explained that the attack took place on the road linking Sheikh Othman and Khour Maksar districts, and resulted in damaging the tires of the car. He himself was not injured, however.

It is noteworthy that the journalist Al-Qua’iti contributed greatly to covering the protests in the city of Aden at the beginning of March, when people rallied against the deterioration of basic services and the economic situation in the city.
