Fighting renewed on Wednesday between the Yemeni forces on one side and the Saudi-led coalition forces backed by Al-Qaeda elements on the other, west of Ma’rib city.
Local sources in Ma’rib said that the army forces backed by the Popular Committees, launched an offensive operation targeting the sites of the coalition forces and Al-Qaeda in Al-Balaq Al-Qibli area, northeast of Ma’rib Dam.
The sources added that the army and Committees were able to take control of a strategic location of the coalition forces and Al-Qaeda west of Al-Balaq Al-Qibli mountain, and another strategic location in the Al-Balaq Al-Awsat area.
The same sources confirmed that the coalition artillery bombed western Al-Balaq Al-Qibli in an attempt to stop the advance of the Yemeni forces, but failed to stem the tide.
