The north front of Ma’rib province has witnessed rapid field developments in the course of the fighting between Yemeni army, backed by the Popular Committees on the one hand, and Saudi-led coalition forces and al-Qaeda elements on the other, Yemen Press Agency reported, citing local sources.
Local sources in Ma’rib province confirmed that the army forces fought during the past hours against coalition forces and elements of terrorist organisations, during which they were able to counter a major attack in the direction of Camp al-Rawaik east of al-Alam, as well as on the area of al-Kanaies.
After fierce fighting, the army forces made progress on the ground, taking control of some new location in the northwest of the Al-Alam al-Abyad front.
According to the sources, the army forces also advanced towards the areas of Al-Mail, north of the military camp of Sahn al-Jin, where fierce fighting is currently taking place between the two sides amid reports of major collapses of the invading forces.
This comes a day after Yemeni forces secured the Al-Jadafir Desert east of Jawf province and cut off the invading coalition’s supply routes in the north of Ma’rib.
