Several members of Saudi-backed Hadi “government of Yemen” wanted by Qatar for corruption and embezzlement

The State of Qatar is prosecuting prominent political leaders in the Saudi-backed Hadi puppet “government” of Yemen, for crimes of embezzlement and plundering of Qatari public funds, for a total of hundreds of millions of dollars.

This was reported by Bahraini newspaper Al-Ayyam on Wednesday.

Leading officials in Hadi’s government have participated in cases of corruption and embezzlement deals made with the now imprisoned former Qatari Minister of Finance, Ali bin Sharif Al-Emadi.

The Bahraini newspaper quoted a source in the Hadi government embassy in Doha, which said that Yemeni businessmen in leading positions in the presidency office, including Hadi’s own son, Nasser Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is deputy director of the presidential office; as well as Advisor of Economic Affairs Ahmed Al-Eisi, prominent businessman and leader in the Islah Party Hamid Abdullah Al-Ahmar, and a number of other personalities, companies and contractors, are facing official Qatari charges of being involved in corruption and embezzlement.

Hadi government officials are also accused of providing bribes, committing fraud and plundering public funds in Qatar.

The Qatari police arrested the former Minister of Finance, Ali Al-Emadi, in the first week of May on charges of corruption, embezzlement and abuse of power.
