The statement coincides with the arrival of UN Envoy Martin Griffiths in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he is set to consult with Yemeni and Saudi officials to seek a plan to ease restrictions on Sana’a International Airport and the port of Hodeidah, to achieve a ceasefire and to resume the political process between the parties to the conflict, according to media reports.
“The special envoy is expected to meet with senior Yemeni officials as well as Saudi officials and diplomats,” Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General said in a press briefing published on his website.
