A senior commander of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) was exposed to an assassination attempt by an armed ambush in Lahj province, southern Yemen.
This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on local sources.
According to the sources, Brigadier General Abdul Karim Alsoulani, Commander of the 1st Thunderbolt Brigade, survived an assassination attempt in an armed ambush that targeted his convoy at the entrance to the city of Habelin in Lahj province.
The sources said that several of his companions were wounded in the ambush.
