Yemeni forces launch major offensive in Jizan, liberating 150 square km

The Yemeni army, backed by the Popular Committees launched a major military operation against Saudi army troops and their mercenaries in Jizan region, in the southwest corner of Saudi Arabia.

During the operation, the Yemeni forces were able to liberate more than 150 square kilometers deep inside Saudi territories, a military official said.

According to the official, more than 40 positions in the Jizan axis were liberated in the operation, in which various combat units participated.

The army and Committees launched a large-scale attack on three main tracks against Saudi army positions in Jizan, from the Al-Khouba and Jari Valleys, and took control over the sites of the MBC mountain, Al-Fakhthia hills, AL-Bayda hill, Al-Amoud, Tawaleq and Sharq Qaim Sayyab, the official explained.

The operation resulted in the death, injury and capture of more than 200 Saudi army forces and both Sudanese and Yemeni mercenaries. More than 60 military and armoured vehicles were also destroyed and burned.

The military media of the Yemeni army documented the operation and released video footage showing the army forces storming Saudi military potions and clashing with the mercenaries.

The operation began by attacking the fortifications of the mercenaries, which led to a massive panic in their ranks. The Yemeni army looted extensive amounts of weapons, ammunition and military vehicles during the attack.
